Teddy's Teddies (short 2d animated film)
Treatment

A young boy named Teddy, with scruffy red hair and a love for kings, queens, knights and dragons. His walls are covered in his drawings. The floors are covered in pencils, paper and picture books. And today he is making cardboard crowns for himself and his stuffed animals. After cutting out four crowns, placing one on top of the heads of a fluffy, chunky caterpillar, a soft bunny rabbit with long ears, and a stuffed robot plush, that has a sound box that beeps when pressed. Placing each stuffy on top of its own little cushion or box he has found. He turns towards the mirror. Gently placing a beautiful crown on top of his head. Picking up a plastic golf club, waving it around. Then he pulls a red blanket off the bed and ties it around his neck. Teddy nods at himself in approval. Puffing out his chest and fixing his posture. He is a king. The world around him fades away, the once messy typical childhood bedroom disappears. The walls are being replaced with patches of mediaeval brick that look like they were drawn by a child. The window being replaced by a wall mounted candle stick. Teddy, proudly faces his stuffed animals, who are now sitting on top of mini thrones. He lifts his golf club, which is now a sceptre. “AHEM!! As your king... I declare... umm.. that... are... YOU THREE ARE THE BEST SUBJECTS A KING COULD'VE ASKED FOR!!!” He stutters the shouts. The head of the bunny rabbit flops to one side due to the weight of the crown. Almost questioning Teddys proclamation. Teddys looks over. The bunny ‘tells’ Teddy, which is just Teddy’s voice, “Do you even know what a king does?”. Almost startled by his ‘own’ question. Teddy objects! Stating that he does indeed know what to do as king. He quickly crouches up to the robot plush, whispering to it. Asking the robot if he knows what a king does. Asking in a way to not admit he actually doesn't know what a real king does. He presses the button on the robot's chest, as its mouth lights up and starts to beep and boop. Breaking the sound, an older woman's voice echoes out. Breaking the trance of imagination. The room moves and morphes back to the bedroom. And the thrones are cushions, the sceptre is once again a golf club. ‘Teddy! Dinner!’ is called out. Teddy pops up excitedly. And runs out of the room, his blanket cape flapping behind him. The three stuffies are left behind as the credits start to roll.
